Studying New Forms of Migration in Morocco:                                                                           “Les migrants subsahariens au Maroc : Enjeux d’une migration de résidence” (Published Nov. 2016) This study (funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation), based on a quantitative survey of more than 1,400 people, introduces and discusses the conditions of integration of sub-Saharan migrants in Morocco, and the determinants of their migration. It gathers unprecedented data, in particular on the conditions of entry, on the propensity to settle and on the organization, especially economic, of the stay. Contrary to many preconceived notions, Morocco is for the most part a migrant destination and not a transit destination. This calls for a fresh look at the migratory policy of the Kingdom of Morocco.
