Heba F. El-Shazli

Heba F. Shezali is an Egyptian-American scholar specializing in Democratization, Civil Society and Global Social Movements, and the Labor Movement in North Africa and the Middle East. Shezali teaches courses in International Relations, Comparative Politics, Governments and Politics of the Middle East and North Africa, Political Islam, and Global Social Movements, in the Department of Public and International Affairs (PIA) of George Mason University, in Fairfax, VA, and the Center for Democracy and Civil Society of Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C.

Shezali’s previous  work experience includes: Regional Program Director (MENA region) at the American Center for International Labor Solidarity (Solidarity Center), in Washington, D.C., and Deputy Regional Director (MENA region) at the National Democratic Institute.
